Also known as, the Dardanelles Strait, Gallipoli is the notable region of a failed invasion by Allied forces during World War 1. Thousands of men died and their bravery is commemorated at nearby Anzac Cove, particularly popular with Australians and New Zealanders who annually visit on the 25th of April for morning services.
Nearby is the famous archaeological site of Troy, the city that fell when invading Greek forces hid men inside a large wooden horse and sent it as a gift. Due to its 4000 years of history, Troy is an official UNESCO World Heritage site. It is possible to visit Anzac Cove, Troy and the Gallipoli battlefields in one day from Istanbul, but it is a long and tiring agenda so we recommend an overnight stay.
Day 1: Istanbul - Gallipoli
Hotel pick up, drive to Gallipoli and lunch at a local restaurant. Attractions to be visited include...
• Brighton Beach
• ANZAC Cove
• Ariburnu
• ANZAC Commemoration Site
• Lone Pine Australian Memorial
• Johnston’s Jolly (Turkish & Allied trenches & tunnels)
• The Nek
• Chunk Bair and New Zealand Memorial
Finally, cross the Dardanelles by ferry to reach Canakkale where you will stay overnight.

Day 2: Troy - Canakkale - Istanbul
After breakfast at the hotel, the tour group will visit Troy to explore…
• Replica of the Trojan Horse
• Altar and the original 3700-year-old city walls
• Houses of Troy I (dating from 3000 B.C. to 2500 B.C.)
• The Bouleterium
• Odeon (Concert Hall) and the other remains from the history of Troy
There will also be free leisure time in Canakkale. We suggest a visit to the Naval Museum or a delicious meal in the seafood restaurants on the harbour or join optional excursion.
Optional Boat Trip to Anzac Landings : You will have lunch and then visit Kabatepe Simulation Center for a 3D movie of historical events of the campaign. Then embark on our boat to visit landing beaches of Gallipoli to have unique opportunity to see Brighton Beach, Beach Cemetary, Anzac Cove, Ariburnu Cemetary and Anzac Commemorative Site at North Beach from the sea. This journey is the same as once Anzac Soldiers did in 1915. You will also have chance to snorkel or swim over the wreck of the Milo, a steamer that was deliberately sun in 1915 to form a breakwater for Williams Pier.
Back to Eceabat and depart for Istanbul. Alternatively, you can tailor your return transfer to continue to other attractions such as Ephesus and Pamukkale. Please ask for further details on this.

Gallipoli and Troy tour -incredible
We recently took the Gallipoli and Troy tour and it was very emotional and really being there is very confronting. The tour organisers were very helpful and had extensive knowledge. We would highly recommend this tour.

Gallipoli & Troy
Booked an overnight tour from Istanbul down to Gallipoli & Troy then return via the internet many months ago. I was a little nervous that we might arrive to find something had gone wrong, but I needn't have worried. There was a welcome pack waiting at our hotel for us & we were collected right on time. The entire tour operated by Crowded House Travel ran like clockwork. We were greeted with a great lunch on arrival in Eceabat, had a very informative tour of the Gallipoli site then were escorted to our hotel in Canakkale. The next day we were collected on-time, had another great tour of Troy & joined the bus for the trip back to our hotel in Istanbul.
We could not have hoped for a better experience and recommend TSC Travel/Crowded House Travel.
